📚 IN DEPTH✏
WITH AUTHOR OF DRAMA & ROMANCE
💘MARCIA CARRINGTON
What are you writing at the moment?
I’m working on MAXWELL SLADE HAS VANISHED, which is due in 2016. It is about the kidnapping of a fitness entrepreneur, and the effect of his disappearance on his wife, brother and co-workers. It also delves into the theme of events not being exactly what they appear to be, and that people’s surface appearances do not always reflect who they really are.
What do you like about writing?
I like everything about writing. I enjoy the whole process – from the initial planning of the story, the completion of the first draft, the editing process, and, the moment when it goes live on the e-book websites. There’s a thrill seeing it all gel together, and when readers offer their viewpoint on my books, I find these fascinating, and always helpful as a gauge for my writing.
You appear to write more short stories, novelettes and novellas than longer works. Will you be writing any more novels apart from THE GREAT HIGH SCHOOL LOVE GAME?
At the moment, I am concentrating more on novelettes, novellas, and short stories, as I find their size works with the stories that I like to write. I always say never say never, but I haven’t planned on writing any novel-length books in the near future.
Apart from writing, what else are you interested in?
I love watching vintage clips on You Tube of films, soap operas and music videos. I also love shopping, and seeing products change from season to season in department stores. Food is also high on the list of loves, with cheesecakes, lasagna and other delicious fare are my favorites. Keeping the house at its best and cleanest is also a happy thing for me; it offers a feeling of refreshment and catharsis that I love.
What is it you love about coffee?
There’s just something about coffee which has always comforted, calmed, and taken me away to other worlds. It is also great as it is versatile – I like it as a mocha, cappuccino, powdered coffee, instant coffee in milk…I could go on, but suffice to say that it is an unconditional part of my life!
Thank you so much for having me on your blog today Tammy!
Want to connect with Marcia?
Marcia Carrington writes about the human condition, exploring what makes people tick, but in an upbeat and optimistic tone. She is an interested observer of popular culture, and fan of cinema from all eras and countries, especially from the 1930-1970s. Marcia is a long-time soap opera viewer, watching daytime, and night time serials from a very young age.
Marcia is also a food connoisseur, with a particular love of chocolate, and coffee. The morning coffee has always been a staple for Marcia, and something which she cannot do without. There is just something about the fresh aroma of coffee early in the morning, and anytime for that fact, which proves irresistible to her.
Be sure to check out Marcia’s author page at Amazon. She has many more titles available than I’ve listed here. Marcia and I have a lot in common. Not only do I share her love of chocolate and coffee, I’ve been hooked on classic cinema since I was a kid!! Thanks so much for visiting with me Marcia!!
P.S. Marcia’s interviewed me too!! https://marciasbooktalk.wordpress.com/2015/07/25/guest-post-author-tamara-ferguson-offers-insightful-advice-for-productive-writing/
